About John Riordan – Sustainable Web Developer in Waterford

Supporting Local Businesses in Waterford

I'm John, a web developer based in Waterford, working with local businesses in the area.

I got tired of watching small business websites get bloated with plugins and tracking scripts they didn't need, so I build the opposite: lean, fast sites that load instantly and don't waste your visitors' time or data. Same goes for apps — I'd rather build something that works great in a browser on any phone than force people through an app store download for a business they're visiting once.

Less bloat isn't just a nice-to-do for the environment, though that matters to me. It also means your site loads faster, ranks better, and actually holds up when someone's on patchy 4G outside a shop in Carrick-on-Suir. I keep the code lean, the assets tight, and host on green infrastructure where I can — the kind of stuff that's invisible when it's done right, and painfully obvious when it isn't.

I'm based in Waterford and I like working with businesses here — it means I can meet you in person, understand what you actually need, and build something that fits rather than a template stretched to cover it.
